+1 on a RAM mount - very sturdy & allows for various things to be mounted very quickly (cup holder, support for my Gerbing's controller, etc.). I use the RAM mount along with one of these:

Leaves me with a very clean and sturdy set-up.

I didnt want to spend the money on the Ram mounts and they looked too bulky.

Go to www.mountguys.com they have mounts for any type phone or GPS (Ram mounts too if you want them). I got one for about $20 and it worked great. Clamps on the bars and holds the gps where you want it.

im cheap i used some heavy duty velcro and stick it to my console rite below the gas cap when im not using it i peel it off alittle goo gone wipes the adhesive backing rite off
