I always wear a doo rag. It keeps the inside of the helmet clean. I think that's what they are really for. IMHO

Most times, no liner of any sort under the helmet. If at my destination I know that I will be in the sun, I wear a baseball cap under the helmet. The cap helps shield my bare spot from sunburn.

My tater's tiny so I wear a black ball cap backwards and it takes up the slack. Smells lovely too. LoL

Default simple and cheap solution

The problem arises from your head being in contact with the helmet liner. You need to create a space between the two. I have used a folded over and appropriately shaped piece of chicken wire to create a 1/4 in. space for smooth airflow.

I ride in some of the most fierce temperatures on the planet...120 degrees + in the CA desert and no problem. No itch, no sweat. The only drawback is that my head does get scratched once in a while.

I am looking for a material like chicken wire that I can mold to my head that would not be so hostile to my noggin.

I'm thinking there must be someone out there working in the field of areospace with a more cool solution to this problem... I'm all ears...

When I am not using my helmet for more than a few days (and now in winter) my wife has me put a dryer sheet in them. Keeps em smelling good.

+1. That's why I wear one. One of my helmet's over 10 years old and the liner looks almost new.

Default Skull Cap

I, in winter, wear a skull cap like military pilots wear under their helmets. They help keep my head warm but I am not bald yet. Think they are made from cotton or a felt like material so you can just throw it in the washer. Not sure but you may find them at:

www.gibson-barnes.com

They have them..Just type in the product search window: skull caps
