Regular red Stabil with the "last" fill up of the season here in NJ -November - just went out the other day and it started just fine. Of course my RK is injected but I have worked in the auto parts field for 35 years and the red Stabil is considered an industry standard. The only other factor you can control is to make sure that the tank is topped off. The less air in the tank, the less condensation (water) that will accumulate.
Been using red Stabil in all my bikes, lawn mowers, and other lawn/garden equipment every fall for decades...works great and all vehicles fire right up in the spring. Just fill your tanks, add Stabil and run for 10 minutes or so.
maybe i've just had bad luck but i've had stabil gum stuff up from one end of the system to the other. i have been useing seafoam in everything i own since then with no problems at all.
Fuel doesn't go bad in winter, y'all are wasting your money. If I had a sled sitting through summer I'd give it a try.
agreed... gas won't go bad in the 3 months she's down, so why bother? Seems like a way for the makers of fuel stabilizer to get rich off of uniformed consumers. (It pays to read a book.)

My thoughts exactlly. I have had my ride for 8 winters now. I have never used any additives in the fuel. I have never had a problem starting the bike after it has sat for a month or 2 or 3. And it's a carb too.
I don't bother putting anything in my bike, or my mustang when I had it, and I've never had any trouble with the fuel being bad or them not starting up. So I will save my money and put it towards the low gas prices we have now haha

Since I have 11 vehicles in storage that I rotate use in the summer some sit as long as nine months between use. I would not try that without fuel stabilizer in the tank. Also, I try to keep as many filled up prior to the release of winter blend fuel.
Gasoline does not have a specific life then goes bad. It starts deterioration as soon as it is made. Yes you can get by with three to four months especially with non E10 summer blends but if you do it would still be a smart thing to add some injector cleaner to the tank.
Good maintenance is taking care of business before a problem occurs not afterward.
