Got a friend in Ohio that has a 1998 ( I think ) Softail with less than 1,000 miles on it. He bought it, white knuckled the 2 or 3 times he rode it, so he parked it. His other buddies go ride it every few months to keep the oil going round and round. He wears a Harley T-shirt EVERY day, and won't sell the bike. He LOVES telling the chicks he has a Harley.
For what it's worth, he STILL has a mullet hair-doo too !!! hahahaha
I want his bike BAD, it's turquise and cream, whatever color Harley called it. He refuses to sell it !!! What a waste just sitting.
I KNOW THIS GUY!!!! Saw him at the rally last year I think.
Lots of reasons for low milage. In 2008 my neighbor picked up a 94 Ultra with 1500 miles on it. The owner purchased the bike new, rode it for a summer, and then died. His wife never sold it. She was moving to Florida and had a auction to get rid of stuff, and that's where he got the bike. He only paid something like 2K for it and it was bone stock. The guy had 2 bikes, but I don't know what the other was or the milage.
I know 2 guys with low mileage baggers a 2006 RK with 1100 and a 1996 with 3500 miles. Just waiting for the call when they are tired of paying insurance.
My brother in law bought a 2005 Road King from his ex-boss last year 57 mi on it . When we went to pick it up I asked him why the low miles? Told me he got divorced, went out and got his new Harley. Towed it home, took it for one ride, parked it cause it scared him to death! Told me he didn't care to ride it or his ex again !
I picked up an 06 FLHX last october with 1 mile on it, turned out to be an XM radio display bike, they dumped about 6K worth of add ons to it. I picked up up for 14, 495.
In 2008, I found my wifes 05 Deluxe on E bay, the add said less than 1k mi. I drive to Fla. to look. The odometer shows 970 mi. Still had **** on the tires, I suspect the bike was wrecked... then the lady who owned it told me that it was just too much trouble to get the bike out and get everthing ready, she always just rode on back with her boyfriend. I ran the vin.. no wreck. Bought it. Probably the best deal I will ever see.
I picked up my '98 this past June with 7700 miles on it, it comes out to 641 miles per year (roughly). My uncle's '77 Ironhead has 16,000 miles on it, but he drives truck for a living.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
As posted some people buy them thinking they are going to be in the wind and then find out that it's not like in the movies and chicks aren't lining up to jump on the back or they can't ever get comfortable or feel safe and it gets parked.
My Night Train had 1800 miles the first year because I was always on call and drive a car assigned to me for work. Hard to carry all the crap I use on call on a bike. It has quite a few more on it now. Will be riding a lot this year especially with gas at over 3 bucks a gallon.
