+1 for the friggin snow...
I hadda dig my baby out of a ten foot frozen snow drift to get it in it's new home... Now I'll need to maneuver around that garbage to get out and drive down there... here's hoping for a nice easy thaw between now and then!

That is the same style of trailer I have but mine is only a 5x8. I'm thinking of putting some 3' sides on it once a guy at work teaches me to weld. Then I will put some new boards down and install a chock and rings.

I'm not going to be the one to judge anybody. Whatever works for the individual. There were some nice ones posted here by the way.

A 100 posts and a handful of years more than you've been around

Some of these are nicer than my house! LOL!!!!

And as far as the pic of the guys in the T shirts... the only thing they "ride", is each other me thinks...

I guess it just depends on what all you want to get out of your trailer. Our's is used almost exclusively for atv trips, the Daytona trip has been the only time it has been used for bikes so far besides the few times some of them were in pieces and unrideable.

Before we had the fold down beds installed we'd always just used cheap air matresses. Cheap, effective and since 95% of the time we're riding or outside they stayed there since the only thing we do in the trailer is sleep. I guess the biggest thing is to compare your budget to what you deem as necessities. Insulation and A/C are pretty high on the list and roof mounted A/Cs can he had for ~$800ish. If that's out of your range Ive seen people use those free standing A/C units that are ~$400 with some success. Insulation and sheeting can be done yourself using some 1" foam board from Home Depot/Lowes. Heat? Some of the roof mount units have a heat strip but they dont always function the best. I'd also suggest having a small electric space heater just incase.

Another thing to consider is stability. When the trailer is setup I level it out and use some of those cheap adjustable jack stands on all 4 corners to keep it stable when people are moving around in it and/or the weather gets crappy.

What about securing bikes? Nothing sucks than not having enough D Rings. We have a couple of the front wheel clamps as well as one of those roll in wheel chocks. They work great to hold the bike up while you strap it down and once the bike is stapped the chocks help to keep the front end from sliding out and holds the bike in place great. Another bonus is once you get to your destination and unstrap everything you can just sit the chock outside and out of the way since we dont bolt them to the floor. For straps we've got the ones that are covered in in some fur crap or just put a microfiber towel in between the strap and the paint/shiney junk to keep from scratches/scuffs/etc.

never could understand buying a camping trailer spend all that money to sleep in an RV park. rather spend the money on an 4 star hotel. we have a friend who between his 24 ft trailer and his SUV to haul it he spend close to a 100grand. to me that about 15 years of awesome vacations( 6000.00)each time out. but each to his own enjoy it.

I got about 70k tied up in the truck and trailer, Don't need an rv park thats what the generator is for, I us mine alot, hauling atv's out to the remote areas of Idaho for hunting, only hauled the bikes once, and it makes a great guest house, or dog house if the wife is really pissed at me.
The pick up gets used for alot of stuff not just pulling the toy hauler.
At 60, I want some comfort.
