Default Fallen Riding Buddies

I just read a post about a rider who lost his riding buddy to an accident last night. I was reminded of a close friend/riding buddy that I lost to an accident last August.

So here's my idea for this thread...

If someone you knew lost their life riding a motorcycle, post a memory of them here. Post your favorite memory, something unique about their personality, or vent your frustrations over your loss.

Do the best you can to keep things positive. Pain and loss can be difficult to cope with.

And please, please, please don't make this into a politics and/or helmet law thread...

In August of 2010, a close friend of mine lost his life on his bike. He was only 24, but a very experience sport bike rider. He was going around a corner and hit a man-hole cover that put him into a slide. He went off road and hit a tree.

His name was James 'Mic' Schnase. I met him when we were both snowboarding instructors. I only knew him for a few years, but I felt like I knew him my whole life. He was like a kid brother for me. Whenever he would have money trouble, I would let him room with me for few weeks or whatever. He was young and smart and had bright future ahead of him. He was a helicoptor pilot and planned to have his own heli-skiing company.

Even though he rode a sport bike and I rode a harley, we used to ride together and we both enjoyed it. He used to say that I was the only cruiser he liked to ride with cuz I kept up.

It still makes me tear up to think of him. I miss my friend.

" Oregon motorcyclist dies in Nevada crash WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - A motorcyclist from Florence was killed when his bike ran into the rear of a stopped car on Nevada 140 about 95 miles north of here, south of the Oregon line.
Ron M. Youngchild, 37, was northbound when his Harley Davidson clipped the left rear of the stopped car, throwing him off, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. Youngchild was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured." -Democrat Herald

Work buddy that lost his life 10 years ago. 89 year old lady driving backward on the highway because she missed a turn. Left his 10 year old daughter without a father. Great guy, he is missed by all that knew him.

I lost two good friends due to motorcycle related accidents, Scott J. about 5yrs ago, we were good friends for 25yrs, hung out or talked everyday, when he died it sure did leave a big void in my life, RIP Scott.
The other is Gene S. about 2yrs ago, he was my father in law, knew him for 18yrs, we use to hunt and ride together, we had alot in common, best father in law one could ask for, he is surely missed by the whole family. RIP Gene.
