IA where ddid you get the info on dealership sponsor? I will go see my dealer today and want info since they will probably know nothing about it. What does it exactly mean.
If you go to this page and scroll down you will find the full press release
Here is the paragraph that's relates to the "Home" Dealer from that press release.
"The first twenty-five participants to reach the finish and who ride the complete stipulated route will be recognized as winners and be eligible for monetary awards. Each rider will have the opportunity to designate a selected "home Harley-Davidson dealership" when they enroll. The home dealers of the top five finishers will be eligible for awards and recognition alongside the riders".
I finally settled on a dealer for my "Home Dealer" on the Hoka Hey Challenge.
The one I chose is Harley-Davidson of Macon GA.
I realize it's not a small store. I based that decision largely on this Video of Grover Sassaman the founder of the store. I wish there were a few hundred more with his love of motorcycles and dedication to customer service.
Now all I gotta do is win so his store will get some goodies.
Galena (IL) H-D is pretty small. (1) each of sales, motor clothes, finance and technician. But, they are owned by Wolf Schulenberg who also owns Sauk-Prairie and Dubuque H-D...
One contender has got to be the one in Cherokee, Nc on the reservatiion. Little shop tucked in with all the souvenier shops near Maggie Valley.
If you count the shops that don't sell motorcycles or parts - just "motorclothes" - Voodoo Harley Davidson, on Decatur St., in New Orleans is about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of Cherokee HD. I've never seen a smaller one, except maybe Barb's in the Philadelphia airport. However, both of those are part of bigger dealerships.
You know, I go in Harley dealerships everywhere I go - mainly because anything else motorcycle has even less to look at and is closed on Sundays. But the other day I went into A.D. Farrow in Columbus - "America's Oldest Harley Dealerhsip." It looked exactly like every other dealership and had exactly the same crap - like something you'd expect to find in a suburban shopping mall. It could be an Abercrombie and Fitch or something equally gay. That's when it really hit me that HD dealerships are boring as crap and HD is probably dead wrong about how to do it. At least the one in Huntington WV serves food.
Wow, whats the deal? This thread was started by someone needing to find a sponsor dealership for last years Hoka Hey Challenge. The race is over and so too, should this thread.
Maybe its just winter boredom.......lol
