I just found out through the A.B.A.T.E. of Oregon website link to the Oregon legislature web page, that there's a HEARING SCHEDULED concerning HOUSE BILL 3141! Here's a link:
Basically, if you can, be in Public Hearing room "D" around 1:00 pm on Wednesday the 30th of this month (March), and do your best to support this bill! I'm going to try to be there if I can.
It's not often we get a chance to "Let those that ride, decide". Even with John "Dr. NO" Kitzhaber in the Governor's office, there's still a good chance of finally being able to make up our OWN minds on something!
Thanks for the update and it looks like I will be making a trip to Salem from Eugene next week to help support this bill, I would love to see the helment law for over 21 repealed here in Oregon. Keep us posted!
I hate to say this, but I would be AMAZED if Oregon repealed or changed their helmet law. Oregon is one of the biggest nanny-states there is. You can't even fuel your own car in Oregon, and their rural speed limit on the interstate is only 65.
Knowing this, you really think they're going to dump their helmet law? That being said, I hope I'm wrong ...
