First, thanks to all who responded, much appreciated.

As to the mythical 50-state Harley, I wish it were so, but can't find any verification-- which basically means I cannot buy outside of the state unless the bike has at least 7500 miles--

You can go to Carson City HD and Reno HD,they sell CA. legal bikes.
As far as pricing,you need to shop.And remember,someone will always get one cheaper than you!

onedown is right all 2011 have cats, to met carb there is a few extra items put on cali bikes that my Illinios bike don't get, good all I would have is more new parts taken off and laying on the floor, Later

but still, the problem seems to be that even tho other states have emission equipment installed it is not certified for Cali use, and you cannot bring that bike into the state-at least not until it has 7500 miles on the odometer

-- I agree, that crap will just come off anyway, but you still have to purchase in Cali-- sucks

I bought mine in Reno,NV.It was Ca. legal.
I guess bescause they are so close,they just order Ca. bikes to expand their market.
