For modern Harleys, i've been a softail rider exclusively. Since 2000, it's been two FXSTs and now a Fat Boy. But I've always had hankering for a Dyna. they remind me of my older Harleys from an earlier time. I had a Sportster in '68, done that and I've never owned a modern bagger.
Are you true-blue to your particular type of Harley? Seems like touring framed bikes have the most loyalty, but that particular model has never bitten me. I'd like to ride a Roadglide across the Utah desert sometime though.
I love my softtail but its can be a bit heavy for around town. If I had the money I'd have a second lighter and more nimble bike for around town. No one bike is the best in all situations.
I currently own my Dream bike that I've always wished I could some day own as a little kid, but if I were to keep my bike and purchase a second, I would love to give a StreetGlide a shot!
I am not model specific...I have had sportsters, dynas and softails...right now I have a roadking classic....and its the best so far....for those of you considering going from softail to dyna I would seriously consider renting one for a day and make sure you like the ride..After having a softail and then going to a dyna I didn't care for the ride...softail was much tighter in the turns and lower to the ground so it handled much better...
I'm not even brand specific. I was working a deal on a sweet honda VTX1800 when I came across a too good to be true price on my 05 softail. I love it love it love it. But I'm not someone that believes all the rest suck. I like a lot of differnt bikes.
