I got some pretty good deals at Surdyke Harley Davidson in the past. Savings are not huge but decent. They offer free shipping from time-to-time and there's no sales tax. http://www.surdyke.com/Index.asp#
Harley introduced 3 new speedo / tach combination units this year that are all under $300 and are plug 'n play. You can also try a Dakota Digital, but they are in the $400 range.
Hmmm... I only saw the one I mentioned as being listed for a 2007 Fatboy... well that and the black version.

The Dakota is in the $500 range. Heck the Dakota handlebar mount speedo is $350. It would be pretty hard to find a digital tach/speedo combo for $300 or less regardless of who makes it.
Melted some of a cleaning rag on one of the wifes heat shields. Got a majority of it off but was going to replace it. This heat shield is the one that comes off the rear cylinder and is about 10 inches long. I figure dealership prices should be $70-80. WRONG...$180. Had parts guy double check price. He couldnt believe the price either and told me my best bet would be to go on ebay or craigslist and pick one up. After hearing the price I figured her heat shield didnt look to bad after all.
Take it off her bike, warm it in the oven, use Easy-Off oven cleaner on it and then wipe it off with a clean white rag. Don't get any on a painted surface.
My father melted his blue nylon slacks on my pipe and I got it all off with Easy-Off.

Did the ez-off thing but didnt even think about putting it in the oven first. Will give that a try. All thats left is some "jean" marks. Thanks
