From your map looks like you came across 268 how was the road I thought about riding it today and going up into Wilkes and Jefferson myself today but decided to go west then north...lol
268 was a good ride -- lots of nice farm country from what I could tell. Fog was laying fairly heavy when we came through so we didn't get to see a whole lot. I'd like to do that ride again when the weather is clearer off the mountain.
That looks like a great ride. The photos are actually pretty good quality for having been taken with a blackberry. I'd like to see more ride reports like this on the forum. You've inspired me to get out and ride once all this damn rain we've been having stops!
Great area to ride, and lots of great musicians live there. Doc Watson, The Krugers, Tut Taylor to name a few. Wayne Henderson lives just north of there. That's one of my favorite parts of this country. Absolutely beautiful.

Yep lots of farms on 268. I go that way most times when riding to Wilkes or beyond just for the nice curves near the Happy Valley/ Buffalo Cove area. There is a nice motorcycle only camping area in Ferguson as well right on the creek.

I guess you guys found out that all the farmers are dumping chicken droppings on their pasture now.
Thanks for the shots guys. I have been lucky enough to have driven ( not ridden ) all over NC and regularily spend time in Cary ( Containment Area of Relocated Yankees ). I love NC ( don't worry, I don't have a Uhaul ) and the NW part of NC is my favorite.
I would love to be able to do some riding down there someday. Thanks for jogging the memory.
Happy Easter and y'all ride safe.
