Even H.O.G. has By-laws and rules and I would think your club has them as well and this area would be covered. JM2C
Bud when I rode patch there were only 3 clubs in the entire state there were VERY defined rules about it , even a cutoff vest with anything but a set of wings on the back and somebody was in your face about it . Club patches now are like mushooms in a **** pile they are popping up so fast everyday , hell even the cops have given up trying to log them all around here they change so fast .
Hit the local hang out yesterday and there wasn't a single rider the place who didn't have a club patch and 80% of them were spanking new , quit counting at 20 different patches . Was Like going to a Boy Scout Jamboree for gray hairs .
OK...Thanks for your responses to my post...got all the info I need...my question was based on a major club from the 60's...that allowed ths practice...I was wondering if they still practiced it ....I'll now ask our local Mother Club....Thanks again.....Ride on !!

probably , if the truth be known, most of us would be wearing that patch. Seems as if one simple thing like a headache for months can cause a man to do near anything she wants him to do. Adam ate that apple didn't he?
