Any Riders with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
#21
I had mine done about 6 months ago on my left hand. You will lose a little strength at first but it will come back. I never lost enough strength to keep me from using the clutch and riding the bike.
Just the palm of my hand hurt a little while where they made the incision until it was all healed.
No problems now....

Absolutely get it done. I wish I had surgery long before I did, I put it off for way too long. I had one hand done and then the other just three weeks later. That was a year ago, and I have had zero problems. My hands don't go numb when I ride now, I don't drop things for no reason, and my grip is better than before. Good luck. Jake

I've got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I'm considering having the release surgery, but I'm concerned that after, I won't have the strength to operate the clutch.
Are there any HD riders out there with CTS? If so, have you had surgery, and, did it effect your ability to ride?
I don't want to love my freedom!

Ask the doctor for some grip strengthening exercises and start them as soon as recommended. You might be off the bike a few weeks if its your left hand but worth it since the CTS will get unbearable if not taken care of.

I have carpal tunnel in both hands and found a chiropractor in my area that doesn't believe in surgery unless absolutely necessary. I was in her office getting my back corrected every other day for 3 weeks. That was last year and I am totally happy with the outcome.

Had endoscopic yesterday on both hands feel fine. hands are all bandaged up but can use them, go back friday to have smaller dressings put on. The numbness is pretty much gone allready. I had to I could not take it anymore, if it is 90% better it will be great.

On my left hand 5 years had (ten visits) acupuncture and it worked. Now the right hand is starting to act up. My buddy who is a surgeon said it wouldn't work. He had the surgery done on both hands about 6 years ago and needs it again on the right hand.

The only thing I regret about having the release done was waiting so long to have it done! You should be fine with the clutch. My release coincided with the purchase of my LTD, I rode it home from the dealer with stiches still in my left wrist. Piece a cake.
