HD manual for me. If you wait for your dealer to have a sale (20% of is the norm in my neck off the woods) you can get one for about $40.

Buy the HD service manual, the HD parts manual for your bike is also nice to have. I think Shovelhead Bob has previously suggested buying the HD electrical diagnostics manual since the new bikes are so dependant on the electronic control module and its related sensors. Of the three, the first one is a must have if you are going to service or work on your own bike. The other two are nice to have if you can handle the added cost.

Definately go with the HD manual. The Cylmer claims to be for the do-it-yourselfer, but there are just ot many details missing.

Another Vote for the HD manual. I have all three, the service, parts, and electricial. You can scip the electricial unless you plan on getting a HD code reader. The service manual comes with schematics in the back of it. Should be good enough if not get the electricial later or last.

I think it depends on the model. I had both for my Sporty, I found the Clymer had more photos while the HD had more schematics. I only have the HD for my Fatboy. If you intend to do all your own wrenching I would get both, the cost of both of them together is way less than one visit to the dealer.

HD manual is the best, much more detailed and specific.

Anyone know where to get the manuals on CD. I'd like to have it with me while I am traveling in the event I need to figure something out.

The subject of Harley Service manuals on CD has been raised before. I think that would be a great idea but unfortunately they are not available in that format and probably won’t be unless some aftermarket publisher decides to produce them and pay Harley Davidson a fat royalty for that honor
