Default Superglide Custom

I've decided on getting a new Superglide Custom. In the showroom the mid controls didn't feel too bad and I was wondering if there are any long-legged Superglide owners out there that ride using the stock mid controls and what your riding impression is while riding around town and on longer trips. I'm 6'1 with a 34" inseam. Thanks.

Not a SG Custom, but the same riding position with my SB...I rode it with mid controls for about the first 500 miles. I'm 6'3" with a 36" inseam, switching to forward controls was a given for me. I felt really cramped with mids, and probly should have gotten extended forwards.

Congrats on the best looking Dyna the Moco makes--I've had 2, and loved the mids 5'11".

I am 6ft with a 34"inseam. My '03 T sport had mid controls that became a little uncomfortable on long rides. Mine had highway foot pegs"on the frame about 8 inches in front of the shifter. I started heel shifting the gears, and heeling the brake and after I got used to it, it was very comfortable with my feet on the highway pegs all the time. When I got my Electraglide, it was awkward to go back to shifting with the top of my feet again.

I'm 6'3" and on my 02 Dyna SG I put on the highway pegs with the 5" wide pegs. I ended up folding the mid pegs up because I never used them again. I heel shifted and heel breaked.

34" inseam here. I've got a Super Glide with forward controls and it fits me perfectly.

I kept the stock pegs and install them everytime I take a trip over 200 miles. Being able to move my feet back and forth saves my old knees from a lot of pain on long rides. (just a thought)

I'm 5'11" and had a 2010 Super Glide Custom, I put on highway pegs so I could keep the mid controls on. The setup was perfect for me, on long trips I would mostly heel shift. For city riding I could keep my feet on the mid controls for better stability.

Someone had posted an interesting video last year on mid controls and forward controls, had to do with handleing.

Default Superglide controls

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to reply to my post. I think I'll go with the mids and highway pegs to start with. If I find that I'm favoring the highway pegs much more than the mids, I'll go ahead and install some extended Kurys and keep the mid pegs on for different foot position options. If I can get used to heel shifting with the highway pegs like a couple of you have suggested, I'll go that route. Once again, thanks for all of your helpful suggestions. Take care.
