Boot Traction

Boot Traction
I wear a pair of five year old HD boots that are not gripping the pavement very well anymore, particularly at high-traffic intersections. It's getting to the point where it's almost like stopping on ice. A couple of times this weekend thought I was going to lay the bike over because foot slid out from underneath the bike.
The boot soles are smooth diamond grid pattern, orange in color.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I think I'll try soaking the soles in something like mineral-spirits. Or maybe have them resoled.
Any suggestions?

Get them resoled... I dropped one of my bikes on a 95 degree day... aired up the front tire.. was pulling around to get the wife... hit some oil or fuel and my foot went under, and the bike went down in slow mo.... Wife said she wasnt sure who to go for first.. me or the bike! Just a couple scrapes. Went and bought new boots the next day... Red wings. Love em...

I have a pair of Red Wings with the Vibram soles. They do a great job of hold some traction. I tried to ride in an old pair of cowboy boots with the leather soles. No fun at all.

I bought some Doc Martin boots recently. They're the type with that big ugly almost clear soul (with a brown tint or something.) I'm amazed at how well these grip to anything. It's crazy!

Its bad enough getting good footing with sand and oil on the road.
But to keep wearing slick hard soled shoes just don't make any sense..
U said U've bout dropped it at least twice already, Hello,,, find something else to wear till U get them resoled or some new ones...
It'll be a lot cheaper than hundreds of dollar in repairs to Ur bike if U do drop her
