Default RE: 07 Fatboy Problem

Update on the Front End Problem with my 07 Fatboy.
The dealer has had my bike for 23 days now. As I earlier said, the Motor Company would not acknowledge a problem. Lucky for me, the Service Manager at my Dealership would not give up on fighting for me the customer.

On Thursday of this week, the HD area Rep. visited the Dealership and took a test ride on the Fatboy. He FINALLY acknowledged the rattle in the front forks. The indication was exactly as I initially thought it was. The fork spring was rattling against the fork tube in this newly designed front end.

I am told that by Monday the Motor Company quality department will have a fix to the Dealer. I am also told that a couple of days following the instructions and pending what part or parts have to be obtained, I should have my bike back.

What a hassle and what lousy crappy service from Harley. If I wasn't so persistant and stubborn, I'd be riding a defective bike with no recourse. I'm sure if I would have taken it back after the first or second turn down for warranty service, I would have been blamed for hitting something or somehow causing the problem. I hope if anyone else has this problem they will have read this post. I understand from one of the service techs that at least one and perhaps two other 07s have had this problem from just this one dealer.

Appreciate the helpful posts here in response.

Default RE: 07 Fatboy Problem

This will be my final post on this subject since Harley FINALLY admitted they have a problem, and are putting the fix on my new FB.

After the area rep roade the bike and admitted the problem, the factory overnighted new front end to the dealer. They installed it today and test rode the bike. All is well and following detailing tomorrow since the bike has sat for almost a month, I'll be getting my almost new FatBoy back.

Seems that a particular supplier is to blame. More than one supplier sub contracts this part for the Motor Company. How many got out I don't know, but there is a problem for sure.

Thanks again for your suggestions and posts on this subject.
