I find my vest helps on the longer rides or on days when the wind blows when you dont have a sheild. The pockets are nice for what you might want handy and you can put on patches that speak your mind or tell your story while your going down the rode. I never wore one til the last couple of years and it has help start a few conversations. Memorial Day for example my 32 ADCOM patch from Germany was recognised by a older vet who served far before I did. Hes the only person who has known that patch. So now we enjoy comradery of serveing under the same unit. No big deal but I think its kinda cool.
where else would you keep all of those "I've been there" patches.... or I wish I was a member of (fill in the blank) club patch or show off all of those 100,000 miles HOG patches.
Not real big on leather myself, so my vest is denim. Does come in handy on those warm off the bike, cold on the bike days. Perfect in fact. Conceal features are nice too. Most importantly, it's for my PGR patches which is what I actually bought it for in the first place.
If the HDForum fashion police want to call me a poser or a wannabe, so be it.
