Bike drop at stop
#16
Were you already stopped or in the process of stopping? Were your forks straight when you stopped, had you picked.your stopping point in advance or did you you hesitate or change at the last minute? Need more info and don't know your skill or training experience. The extra weight will definitely take over without respecting the gravity. Remember head and eyes!

One of the most common causes for dropping when stopping is the riding stares at the front fender or just slightly in front of and below the line of sight. When stopping, try to focus a good distance in front of the bike at eye level.
Taking a ERC might be worth your time and effort. The weight of the bike has little to do with dropping it when stopping. Seat height on both is almost identical.

My vote would be:
[ ] Differance in bike sizes.
[ ] Am I doing something wrong.
[X] All the above.
Please don't take anyone for a ride on it until you get it figured out. I went from a Kawakentucky Vulcan 900 to a Road King (but haven't dropped it yet). Yup, there's quite a differance in the bike sizes/weights. If you can't get both feet firmly on the ground, sell it for something lower or lower the Ultra. Good luck...
