OMG LMAO!!!! I have this picture in my head of your wife running around the house, talking to you on the phone and the bird dive bombing her.
That's pretty much what happened. I remember as she was talking she suddenly screamed as it hit the bedroom window on one of it's passes. It finally flew into the bathroom and perched on top of the shower stall. I told her to kill the light and close the door till I got home. I figured hawk poop would be easier to clean of the tile the the carpet.LOL And since I brought the bird in I knew who would be cleaning up after it.
It was surprisingly calm once it was in the house that night, I have teenage kids who were able to pet it and check it out up close while it just sat on my arm unrestrained, pretty cool.
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one with mid-air collisions! Went out again today to check out the spot and try to catch a photo, but the bird was gone - another animal might have grabbed it.

I'm no bird guy but I think it's a red tailed hawk. What ever it is they have become pretty common where I live.
