So the bike was delivered on Thursday [sm=drooldude.gif] and is sitting in my garage. I did take it for a spin around the block. However since I am new to riding I wanted to take the safety course first and then start to ride.
I went to the first day of class, we were all standing around talking before the class began and I noticed a kid that looked familiar, since I work at a university I thought it might be a student I knew from campus. When the class starts the instructor asked us why we were taking the class. The kid I knew spoke up and said he was there because he got a ticket for no Motorcycle Endorsement. I asked him where he got the ticket when he replies “You should know, you gave me the ticket.” [sm=guilty.gif] To which I replied, at least you didn’t go to jail. The instructors got a kick out of it, I am sure we will be the topic of conversation around the shop for awhile.
Talk about a small world.
We have the range this weekend come rain or shine, or Hurricane Denis. I should have my endorsement by Tuesday and will be putting the miles on it come Wednesday, I can’t wait.
Took my 23 year old stepdaughter to the fireworks show on the 4th. We met one of the deputies that I work with who was helping with the fireworks (really good seats). My stepdaughter looks at my friend and says "remember me?. He had written her a ticket a few weeks before.
We had a guy in my MSF class w/ a new Ultra. He rode it back and forth to class (lived about 40 miles away) said that he had ridden for more than 10 years, had over 60,000 miles on bikes and had never had a motorcycle endorsement and wasn't sure whether he'd get one after the class or not. The guy was a real RUB, in attitude at least. Told us his bike - basically a standard Ultra w/ SEI slip-on's and a LITTLE bit of Bling, cost him $32,000 out the door. Ohwell, it may be a small world, but I'm hoping that it's large enough that I don't bump into him too often.
Neat stories from you and Terry. Art
I remember when I was a lot younger and I was driving through town and ran a yellow/red light. I got pulled over and given a ticket for it. A friend of mine wanted to go shooting and said that we could go as soon as his friend showed up. When the door bell rang and he answered it, I bet that you can't guess as to who was there, it was the same policeman that gave me the ticket. We've been friends ever since, talk about small world.
