I have the Ft. Lewis model, all leather, gortex lined but no zippers. Made in the USA. Great boots.

I bought my Cruiserworks in 2002, had them resoled once. The inner lining is now shot, but the boots are still comfortable and waterproof.

They had a closeout on the style I had when they moved their factory and were temporarily out of business, and I picked up a new pair that's still in the closet.

Now, in checking this link before posting http://www.cruiserworks.com/

It appears they have gone through bankruptcy.....and are now owned by some investment group.

I wear the Ariat Alloy H20 boots and they are a high quality, fully waterproof, and comfortable boot. My only gripe is that the opening (or whatever you call it,) is big enough for Mr. Olympia's calves.

A breathable membrane like Gortex makes them A LOT more comfortable but adds to the price. If you go for a purpose built motorcycle boot, as opposed to a combat type boot or biker styled boot, it will offer a lot more protection with internal armor and have a sole designed for use on pegs but will probably cost slightly more.

I've been running Icon Patrol boots. Fit nicely, and I can walk all over the place with them. Waterproof as well (just be sure to wear waterproof pants or teh water will run down your leg and collect in teh boot )

I have a sweet pair of Milwaukee boots, but soo heavy and hot, I wear them in cold weather and lovem tho... built to last and comfortable.
However, when its 50 degrees or more I ride in Converse "Chucks.
Cant get any better unless I was barefoot.

Lots of good boots out there...the critical thing is to: (1) occasionally apply a decent boot dressing (keeps 'em from drying out and maintains moisture resistance....a truly waterproof boot can be a thing of misery....and even goretex has its limitations), and....
(2) getting a reasonable fit (difficult if you have odd feet)....and THEN...wearing them often enough that they get "broken in". Don't expect a seldom worn boot (and one that you mostly ride in but don't do a bit of walking) to be supremely comfortable when you're off the bike and on foot.
