I just wear my military issue tan suede boots by Bates. Gave them a good soak with Camp Dry and they keep my feet nice and dry.

That's what I did.

Had the cobbler put a work sole on an old pair of Justins that needed resoling. Then I just oiled them. Works like a charm.

The trick is to re-oil them once or twice a year. That's OK for me. I also have a couple of Filson coats that I have to re-wax about that often, so I just make it a "work party."

I bought the Ariat Carbide H20 boots today and give them a big thumbs up. I usually try to avoid Chinese made boots, but when I tried these on at the store they fit like a glove and and were by far the most comfortable waterproof boots I tried on. I rode about 60 miles with them and they feel very supportive and sturdy. Not bad looking either.

Matterhorn: 10" high, goretex bootie, thinsulate lined, lace to toe. water resistant boot, waterproof integral bootie vibram sole. Keeps you warm and toastie and dry. Plus you can RUN in them. Mine are 15+ years old and still going well. Been on plenty of field exercises and deployments as well as lots of miles on a bike. $200.00 or so, but dry feet are worth it.

I only wear steel toe redwings. They are completely waterproof as long as you dont stand in water that goes up into the laces. I drill and service water wells and often stand in a couple inches of water for long periods of time. Im super hard on boots and they last me over a year (only waterproof for the first 9 months or so).
Theyre high dollar but theyre the only work boot that is really comfortable for 12-14 hours a day sometimes.
Would not suggest steel toes strictly for riding though as the toes get pretty cold.

Cruiseworks and agree with the others. I had a problem with the soles cracking which caused them to leak. Sent them back and they put new soles on them at no cost to me. Would buy them again!
