Weather has finally heated up and the sun is blazing down. As a result my nose got burned to a crisp the last couple of days. I picked up a bottle of sun block stuff but it's that white, greasy stuff and I'd rather not use it. Anybody else have an easily sunburned nose and what did you use to protect it.
UV protective mirrored dark lens face shield on a full face helmet pulled down low enough to work as a sun shield. This is the second year that I have worn a full face modular helmet in the summer. I use the face shield as a sun shield going down the road. It is warmer then no helmet but I don't have to put nasty *** sunscreen on my face to ride. My girlfriend uses that greaseless spray on sp 50. Works for her but I don't like to smell it or feel it on me.
Bandana tied around my face to stop the nose and lips from burning, and to stop coon eyes. People look at you funny, dr called me a smart man when he seen it. I don't use my bandana all the time but lately anything more than an hours ride finds it on my face.
There's all kinds of sunblock on the market .. that isn't that heavy white cream. Personally, I like the sunblock from Neutrogena. It's super sheer and light .. not greasy at all. You can even get SPF 100 if you want.
I wear sunscreen on my nose if I'm riding (anytime of year), or even going to be outside. Coppertone Sport 50. It has that Coppertone smell, which is great. It makes me think of bikinis and beaches.
This time of year, on long rides I wear a 3/4 with a tinted UV shield as well.
