No really you should have ridden for 2 reasons. 1st is a beatiful morning ride to work. 2nd is having a damn good reason to sneak out of work early when you see the clouds start lining up!!!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I probably could have pulled off the ride since it's now 5pm and only gusting a bit around here. Darn weathermen around here can't seem to get anything close to correct. I'd love to have a job where I could be wrong a large percentage of the time and still get paid.
And rain seems to follow me as well. I was trying to come up with a name for my bike related to my weather experiences. Tempest seems to be fitting. Maybe RainMaker... Just the other day I was out on a beautiful sunny day with nearest clouds 10 - 15 miles to the south and I run into a torrential downpour. You get some really weird effects when its pouring rain in bright sunshine. "Look at the pretty rainbows!" Don't know where that rain was coming from. Must have been falling to the south and getting picked up by one mighty wind and blown my direction.
Anyway, thanks all. I'll get my riding in hopefully on Sunday after Dennis sucks all this weather up and moves north. If it holds its strength, everyone say a prayer for people from LA to the FL panhandle. This is one bad storm so if you're up there, be somewhere else by the end of the weekend.
If you guys want to ride in the rain come to Maine. It seems like th only time it's not raining , is when it's snowing..Oh well, it's got to stop sometime.......[:@]
Years ago, I had one of the strangest experiences. I'm sitting stopped at a traffic light and getting rained on (not hard, but a solid sprinkle). Across the street was a donut shop with people standing outside, nice and dry. Sure enough as soon as the light changed, halfway across the intersection...it stopped raining. Made me wonder if God hated me or was just p*ssed of at me at the moment. Art
I just got home from seeing a band, and I had to ride in the rain... I left my gear at home because it was supposed to be clear tonight... goddamned weather network. I wish I got paid to be wrong most of the time! Needless to say, I was drenched to the bone by the time I walked in the door! [:@]
A nice shower on a steamy hot day can be very refreshing ! Riding in a hurricane can get one a trip to the padded room to see if you have a death wish. If you ride long enough, you will get wet! You just have to prepare for it and learn to lean less and slow down.
lotta good answers here but this is by far the best![&:]
