Hell, go with the 1 1/4" apes, run the wires internally, and be done with it. Either way you'd still have to extend the wiring harness to mount them. And when you run the wires internally, it really cleans the bars up.
Just my .
get not dimpled and run the wires (control wires) internally, the brake, clutch, and throttle cables remain external. when we're talking dimp,ed or not dimple only the control wires matter. if you're going to do apes do it right and internally wires the control wires.
Ok, I think these will look sick on the fatboy. I know they arent designed specifically for my bike, but I like the sweep on them. Let me know what you guys think
Also you mentioned you did not want to run internal because you like the braided lines. Just so you know you will not be running the braided lines internally. Just the control wires. Run the wires internally really cleans up the bike and it looks a lot better in my opinion. You will still have the braided lines on the outside
I am going to go with the internal wiring. the bars I am looking at are the ones for the road king. I think they will look good on the fatboy though because they are super wide like the front end of my bike and that bend in the middle is sick.
what are those that you have on your heritage? how do they fit (on you)... the only thing I am scared of is getting bars that are too tall or too short. I want them to be right at or just a little under my shoulders and I am 6 ft. On post, this guy had some 18's and he got a no ride order and I dont want that to happen to me.

Far from me telling someone what bars to put on their bike, but a couple of things;
First, the Santee bars you linked are bagger apes. The bends in the center of the uprights are meant to clear a fairing, which is why the fitment is for FLH/touring models.
Second, the center width on those bars is almost 16 inches. Your Fatboys center width across the nacelle is 10 inches. Which means you'll have almost 3 inches hanging out past the width of nacelle on each side.
Just sayin'.
