Default Tail Bone Hurts

After about 3 to 4 hours in the saddle I get a rather sharp PIA, and I do mean a seriously sharp Tail Bone pain. I have tried the Stock Seat, the Stock Seat with Sheep Skin Cover, and presently a Mustang Wide Touring Saddle with and without the Sheep Skin. Best so far has been the stock seat with the Sheep Skin. But even that's not a real good answer after about 4 hours. I'd love to know if you have any suggestions such as repositioning the bars or any other adjustments short of having the seat recut that have worked for you. I'd be much obliged.

Corbin makes a pretty comfortable seat.

I had the same problem with my stock sporty seat, bought a mustang and it didn't help. I finally brought it to someone who makes custom seats and had them put gel in it...like night and day. No more PIA after that.

If all you ride is once a week 3-4 hours nothing will help if your riding all the time and it still hurts then find the right combo

I broke my tailbone back in Jan. I rode up to DC with Rolling Thunder and I thought I was gonna die. Took a trip to Patriot HD and I purchased one of the Air Hawks. It worked great. If you *** gets uncomfortable, just reposition the pad and it's like having a different seat. It was well worth the $200 I spent on it.

I have 2 bad discs, both are lower, my advice is seat, then 2nd would be your reach, if your reach is too low or too high, or even to far forward, you will feel it in your lower back and it will feel like its your ***....

Two possibilities...1. www.riderbeads.com I had a set and they were great, especially in hot weather.
2. Move your wallet out of your back pocket. It can make a big difference.

I learned this early on. Somehow I keep ending up with a wallet the size of my father's.

Makes a huge difference stuffing your wallet in your jacket than when it ends up stuffed up your **** misaligning your hips and rubbing against your tailbone.

And while some will probably balk, my oldest brother helped me out on my ride from Maryland to Indiana. . .ride the bike like a crotch rocket. Lean over the tank, prop your feet up on the back pegs and "lay" down. It'll get all the weight off your tail bone and let blood circulate.

Helped shave 4 hours off the trip for me. Going from Maryland to Indiana I was in some serious pain and never wanted to do long trips again. I broke the trip into two days, a total of 12 hours.

After that chunk of advice from my bro, on the return trip of Indiana to Maryland I did the "ride it like a crotch rocket" move about once every hour or two (whenever my butt started hurting). I made that trip in one day, just a little over 8 or 9 hours I think. No butt pain and I also noticed my feet didn't go to sleep and feel like I was constantly walking on an idling V-Twin.
