We are just in the planning stages and are working on the details like, Include food or have it for sell at the end, rider/passenger cost? T shirt included in ticket price? and so on.

We found a caterer that will give us a great deal on a hamburger meal so we are trying to decide the best way to set it up. We want to keep the initial cost low so we get a good turnout, but at the same time we want to raise some good money.
Include food. Try to get sponsors for everything to cover your costs.

Although the food is included in the fee, sell the drinks.
... but have plenty of free water available, especially if its hot out.

$20 per rider and $10 per passenger seems to be the average, although some runs are $10/$10 and one is $25/$25.

Do *not* include a T-shirt, but have them for sale (and maybe have a second entry fee structure that does include a T-shirt)

Do have a patch and/or pin available. Give the patch with the entry fee, but sell the pin. If this will be an annual ride, make sure the year is on the design, or, even better, design the patch with no year, and have rockers with the year so people can put them under the original patch.

Have wrist bands, but suggest people NOT put them on their wrists - put them on their vest, belt loop, something else (riding with a wrist band attracts cops)

Get local businesses to provide prizes for raffles and raise additional money by selling raffle tickets during the event. Try to get at least one high value prize, like a TV. You may have a tough time getting that donated, but you can probably find a sponsor to cover the cost.

Do a 50/50 raffle as well.
