Default Does Freaking Out Help??

I pulled out of my development on Saturday and went about half a mile. About 75 yards ahead I see a cager slowly pulling down her driveway on the left side of the street. As I get closer, she looks right at me, and continues to SLOWLY pull right out in front of me. I was prepared and slowed enough to not hit her, but at the same time, I laid on my horn and raised my fist in the air at her. Only then, did she acknowledge me and she was visibly shaken by it. So much so that she immediately pulled off the road and looked like she was starting to cry. On my way by, I shook my fist again and yelled, "WTF is wrong with you!!".

Now, on one hand, I felt a little bad about getting this middle-aged woman so upset that she had to pull over. However, on the other hand, I'm hoping that the whole experience might help her be a little more aware of bikes in the future and not pull out in front of them.

Of course, I'd never get physically violent with with one, but do you think that yelling at cagers when they're being morons ever changes their way of driving?

Yah. Makes them think motorcyclists are idiots and they tend to aim for them a little more aggressively.

If you want respect, you gotta give respect.

Half of them have not idea they almost killed you and the other half just don't care. I always let them know if I am able, but I try not to be confrontational unless they fall under the just don't care category. Sounds like in your case she will really pay attention for a little while at least. You have every right in the world to use the roads without being endangered at every turn or side street.

Sounds like she wasn't a "bad" person, or an *******. Just zoned out for that moment.

why are we bikers the only one who need to give respect, the way i see it that we are the smallest vehicles on the road and the cagers should give us enough respect so that we don't have to fear what they are going to do

because between a bike & a cage, the bike loses every time. dead men have no use for respect.
