Does Harley offer any kind of warranty on their aftermarket accessories? If so, how long does it last?
I have Oil Temp Ga Dipstick for my Sporty (63023-05) I bought in late May. The gauge face of the temp dipstick has engine oil seeping into it. I also had a recent issue with oil leaking out of the top of my oil tank. It stopped when I replaced the oil temp dipstick with the stock dipstick. The O-ring is present so wondering if the gauge housing is cracked or something.
I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with it only that it is not functioning properly. Its never been dropped and has remained on the bike all this time. Could I take it to a dealer and exchange it? Or am I just SOL?
Depending on the item it may have anything from 30 days to 90 days. Some big ticket items may go higher.
For any accessory to be covered under the original and extended HD warranty it must be purchased and installed with the bike and entered on the "line" ticket. HD has a special name for the form.
Mine stopped working also & I returned it. The LCD dipsticks seem to fail but you can buy a regular oil tank gauge for about $25.00 in the J&P cycle catalog page 948. If you don't have a catalog then call 1-800-397-4844 and they will send you one free.
Thanks for the reply. From the answers I think I'm a$$ out. I bought this on the east coast in April. I most likely do not have my receipt. I'm on the west coast now.
