I hit a deer a few weeks ago and the crash bars saved me and the bike. The front left crash bar hit the deers shoulders knocking me and bike over on to the right side crash bars as we slid down the road. It was awesome to not even get a scratch and get back on the bike and ride away. I don't think I'd ride a bike without crash bars after that. Glad to hear your okay and thanks for the heads up.
Yeah, that was the kewl part. Got the bike back upright and rode away. Gotta love a bike that's made like shick brithouse!!! I got off work at 11:30 PM, took it on the freeway and slowly ran it up to about 85 without any problems. I also did some swirly q's and such. All is solid.
Glad it isn't any worse and you're okay. Road crews don't think about bikes when they do projects. Uneven pavement, gravel, dirt, oil, sand, and whatever mayhem they can do, they assume because a car can negotiate it everything is okay. However, not posting signs warning driver's it's a construction area is negligence. If the government entity who's responsible doesn't pay your claim, I'd get an attorney.
In my experience an attorney wont' take a case like this unless there are serious injuries involved. Unbelievable! Glad you weren't hurt!

Oh yes we do, 3 out of 5 of us on our crew ride, and know a lot of others around here that ride. We even stop riders and tell them what to look for when we are working. We assume someone could get hurt, so, we stop them before it happens. Warning signs while working are a thing we take very seriously. We don't start working until they are all up and the flagger is out and ready to go. Sorry i didn't tell you i'm glad you didn't get hurt, i apologize for not doing that.
