Decided to add Highway pegs to my '11 Streetglide, and figured this was a good time to upgrade the passenger pegs to floorboards; will make the fiance happy.
Anyway, I have installed the Passenger Floorboards, but not 100% confident with the fitment of the inserts. The little rubber boots are seated around the pins, and I have tightened the set screw, but with a small amount of pressure I can easily pull the insert right off. Given the vibration on the bike I'm concerned the insert will work its way loose.
Any insight??
I installed them on my 11 FLHX and thought the same thing. So far I have put about 2k miles on and had no problem. Somehow they seem to stay attached???
I just test drove it into work (only about 5 miles on interstate) and they're both still there but just doesn't seem secure. At $85 a set I don't want to be replacing them often.
The new style does not have the rubber boots; its a completely different configuration.
I added some soap (to help slip in place), and also, after a closer look, noticed there are 4 points that contact, not just two. Once I applied enough pressure and ensured all 4 points were in place the insert is pretty solid.
