i got a letter with one of my resent ebay orders for a dealer stating that as of aug 1 2011 that U.S. dealers will not be able to ship outside the U.S. and as of jan 1 2012 dealers will not be able to sell on ebay, i am going to miss them deals the canadian dealers seam to double the price up here on everything, does everyone know about this already?
That's the MoCo protecting there dealer network. How would you feel if you owned a dealer but some other guy sells the same thing you can sell but at a discounted price because he just forwards a customer order and has it drop shipped. The dealer not only has to pay for his overhead he also has to invest money to have inventory in stock so when people come in the can have stock to sell. You may think it stinks but the MoCo is just protecting there guys. If they don't the the dealers will eventually go out of business and the MoCo will not have a place to sell there product.

Sucks but I thing you are dead on with your post. It's a business decision and probably a very good one.

Would be true if the premium was not so high on H-D parts and accessories, on both the Manufactures end and the Dealer mark up.
I have not even seen that much of a savings on Dealer eBay items, no more that I have seen through Zanotti, Surdyke or any of the other volume on line sellers and they kill you on shipping, especially Zanotti. Are they going to squash that as well?
There is nothing to challenge in court. If they say that they are not going to sell online it is their right. The online dealer may gripe about loosing his online sales but that's between him and the MoCo. You can't challenge a company in court just because they don't want to sell online.
load of bullshit the whole thing, we get the same stupid crap at our local dealer, I cant sell you that at a better price or I will lose my dealer ship - well drop the ****in price and we will buy from you,
As for not being able to ship parts all this means is after market parts will do better sales and they will not be able to stop people from selling there parts to anyone they want on ebay as they own the parts and it has nothing to do with MoCo, ****in sick of this **** in the world - oh we want to be greedy and have a monopoly no one else can trade our stuff **** you shift to the market value,
