Cusinart here. But I like the paper filters over the gold one that
comes with the machine. I use this organic mellow roast thats out
of this world. My expresso is a Saeco and I love my capuchinos
with expresso forte beans that I get from a local coffee shop. MMM
MMMMMMMMM cafeine.......
This thread is too ironic for me...Just quit drinking coffee 8 days ago.I'm a high energy person, caffeine hits me almost as hard as cocaine hits most people.I could get by with hardly any sleep at all.Over time I pushed it further and drank a bit more coffee to keep things going. When I finally quit Friday of last week I spent almost the entire weekend sleeping.
I do a fair amount of running and weightlifting---too much coffee and not enough water leads to dehydration and I know I was pushing the envelope.Wanna run 5 miles ? Didn't get much sleep last night ? No Problem drink a lot of coffee and get out there... I also noticed that when I have a big sleep deficit coffee didn't make me a happy cheerful person in the morning...by the time I drank enough to wake up...I'd start feeling edgy and get pizzed off at people over the dumbest issues.
That's stupid,but that's what I'd been doing.
Drinking tons of water now and I have increased energy, feel much sharper mentally and don't get pizzed off as easily.
We've been using Bunn's for many years. I usually use plain Folgers or occasionally, my favorite, Thomas Coffee. I'm used to drinking coffee that has been cooking on the airplane all day so I'm not too particular at home.
We all like a good cup of coffee and over the years we have gone thur our share of coffee makers. We are not into anything like expresso just looking for a GREAT coffee maker that can do it all. Been using Folger's Columbian but the taste gets better. The drinking water here is good, plus we use a charcol filter. What's working for everyone else.
Don't go into Starbucks and look at their prices. You'll switch to milk.
Sprinkle a little salt on top of the grounds or pod and it will take the bitterness out of any coffee. Old Marine trick. I had to wake the gunny up with a cup in my hand.
BUNN... Ours makes 10 cups in about 1 min... get the kind that keeps the water in a resvoir already heated, You then simply dump in another pot, that cold water displaces the hot in the resivor and wala , one great quick pot of coffee with very little waiting. Did I mention that I hate waiting for coffee to perk...
Gevalia has quite a few deals where you join there coffee club and get a free coffee maker as well as 3 or 4 boxes of their coffee. These are good quality coffee makers (Krupps or Braun?) and the coffee is also very good. After your first shipment you can cancel no questions asked.
I joined there club and I receive one coffee shipment every 3 months. There coffee is expensive but it is also very good.
