Advanced Platings in Nashville did these. I can't say how much they cost. My buddy sent all the engine, tranny covers, for uppers and lowers. They all cost 350 bucks.

I've gotten just about every metal part on my bike powdercoated that wasn't already painted, including the front end (2000 RK).

A couple things I learned-

PC is thick, and will hide a lot of defects, but take the time to grind or file off flashes (the little seams left by the casting process) and generally smooth out unmachined surfaces that appear rough. Makes for a much better looking piece when its coated.

If a surface appears machined where it mates to another surface (for instance, the mount flange on your fork sliders that the brake calipers bolt to) mask it. Mask or plug all threaded holes. You should talk with the powdercoat guy so he knows exactly where you want the powder and where you don't. This goes for handlebars too- don't coat the knurled area or the area under the throttle sleeve, or the mount surface of the risers.

Powdercoat prices vary widely from shop to shop depending color, amount of masking and prep involved, how many parts you bring in at one time, and, believe it or not, whether you pay cash and want a receipt.

Your absolutly right.

Also the PC shop will plug and mask what ever you want.
