Well it's only 6 miles to work [sm=gears.gif]

Actually, the bike somehow can't take the normal route to work so since last Wed. it's been a few extra miles to work.

I've got the same problem, I'm thinking about moving about 50 miles further from my work. Now get out there and ride it like you stole it!

Thanks guys, honestly, trying to break in the engine as suggested has been an added distraction I just didn't need. Will feel good to be riding and not thinking about it!!!

even with it only being 6 miles to work that is 12 round trip unless you bought your bike for parades and only expect to ride around town and to the bar and back oh and dont forget starbucks to get your cafemocha latte with extra whip cream while wearing your chaps in 100 degree weather you should of been able to clock 500 in a day after work do it in 2 days

all I am trying to say you realy needed to put at least 100 on the first day to properly seat everything and get it used to being ridden
I cant stop at just 100 if I am out for a ride and I go 100 I want to go 150 -200 or more , I have even been known to ride from Dallas to Oklahoma just for Catfish on Sunday after Church
and now here in California I might ride to Reno just to get a burger and turn around and come back home

I feel ya, however, have other responsibilities, particularly my two kids. First chance we got, the GF & I hopped on and went for a nice ride up north.

Has any one ever heard of failure due to not breaking a bike in?

PS: who will make all my Payments if I get rid of my wife?

I haven't and don't think it would be a problem without some out right abuse. There are many individuals that believe that they should be broken in more aggressively than directed in the owners manual. I have read several right ups on this very subject, I do think that you must be careful with excess heat during break in.
