I also have seen prices all over the board. Was in a HD shop over the weekend, and saw a nice longsleeve thermal henley, embroidered logo on the sale rack, $25, my size, and made in Mexico. Right style, right price, right fit, and maybe that will keep a few illegals from crossing the border. (Is that racist?)
While talking with the owner of one of my local dealerships we got onto the topic of prices. He said that sure they make some money on the sale of the bikes but the profit margin, percentage wise, is small. Next would be the parts and accessories but the motorclothes is where the big profits are, the mark up on clothes is between 250-300%. After all what do you think they sell more of bikes or t-shirts and jackets. Especially now with the economy being crap.
Last month I was in Vegas, Carson City and Lake Tahoe. Shirts were $30 in Vegas, $25 in Carson City and $22 in Kingman,AZ. Local HD shop here in Tucson, $35. Everyhting in Tuscon is inexpensive except for Harley T-shirts. Gas $3.19/gallon.
Yeah, I got two free t-shirts yesterday when I bought my RK. If they really want to make a profit, after looking at the prices, maybe they should sell the shirts and give away the bike for free.
LOL! I used to (let me say that again, USED TO) shop my local dealers weekly for MORE Harley whatever, but dont anymore. I finally realized I had a sickness that had to stop! I mean, HOW MANY freaking tshirts does one guy really need??? I agree that MotorClothes prices have gone up but so has everything else it seems. I guess though I would really rather pay $30 for a decent shirt quality from a dealer than pay $30 for some crap import shirt at a rally. Got home last year from Sturgis only to find that my Sturgis tshirts all had HOLES in them! I check for that crap real closely now.
since retiring from the army, hd t shirts are what i mostly wear these days. but i either get them from a dealer that i visited personally or they were given as gifts. i don't get buying a dealer t from ebay if you've never been to that area?
the job i have now, requires that i wear a collared shirt. so i have a few of the hd button up shirts. sure their expensive, but i like them. and i look for them on the clearance rack. even then, probably still more than their worth.

They will charge what the market will bear. I agree that $60 for a Tee is beyond what I personally will bear.
its the same in england , but i think we have always had the **** taken out of us when it cames to U.S imports ,
its always the same in pounds that you guys paid in dollars , $30 = Ł30
but if your paying nearly $60 for a T shirt , then its about the same now , its even worse with the euro conversion in Ireland .
theres no way a T shirt that cost about $ 1 to make in china , should cost $50 , in the U.S or Ł 30 in Britain

Stopped buying & requesting HD clothes as gifts years ago...cheap China made stuff shrinks & fades. Definitely not nearly worth spending good $$$ on when it's too small after 1st wash. Most of my HD shirts are now garage rags...
