I see the same thing at stop lights. A kid in a piece of junk will tear ahead when the light turns green just to teach me, and my bike, a lesson. ( haha)

I'll grant you that...but if either of us did the rag doll dance at 100mph, the only difference is that he would be the better looking corpse.

Come on Gus, don't you ever have any fun when you ride? I don't make a habit of riding at 100mph, or racing BMW riders, but it doesn't mean what I did was "out of control" or much more dangerous than me cruising at my normal 80-85mph on the freeway. It was a momentary burst of speed for less than one minute on a wide open interstate freeway, where the average speed of most of the vehicles is 80mph. I was comfortable with it, and accepted the increased risk.

Like I said before, I guess you had to be there to see the humor in this entire event. I wasn't laughing at the guy's bike...I'm one of the few that actually like BMWs here. I was primarily laughing at the guy's "metro" appearance, until he pulled up along side of me, maddogged me, and cobbed on the power. That's when I laughed my *** off, and said ok, let's see what you got. He was now in my world...high speed freeway cruising, where he wasn't particularly comfortable. I didn't try to blow by him...I just matched his speed and rode in a tight staggered position (like I would off one of my riding buddies), and waited for him to make the next move. He made it pretty quickly when he changed lanes, and slowed down.

At any rate, no harm, no foul...everyone walked away from this one unscathed.

I agree. Good story.

On the way home today, an old guy on a BMW crossed in front of me while I was sitting at a light - looked like an old 50's or 60's rigid frame. I could ride a BMW like that - pretty cool.

Fun times , I had a BSA an old flat track racer reworked for me in the early 70's . Bored it to 720 , hand cut a set of pistons to fit the thing came in at 11.5-1 comp , welded and reground the cam and I have no clue what he did to those Amal carbs but that thing would eat a 750 honda for lunch . Met it's match when the Kawa Z-1's became common , miss the hell out of that bike .

Good story and if I were there I feel like I would have been laughing at the guy too. And, probably would've matched his speed as well just for a fun time.
I feel like giving the situation described it wasn't overly endangering to anyone besides themselves.

I agree. You're both a couple of dumb asses. I saw a biker get killed last memorial day speeding on a public road. It was enough to make me almost quit riding.
