After reading here that the windshield bag on my Fat Boy was sissy I took it off. Oh, it was convenient -- I kept an extra pair of shades in there, a microfiber cloth, folding tactical and a loaded magazine for the P-64. But I have a leather tool box (you know, the pear shaped one) on the left side, so I put that stuff in there, minus the clip.
The genuine-leather Harley embossed black bag? It was foofy according to those in the know, so off it went.
And whadda ya know? I noticed an immediate improvement in my acceleration. Before the stage 3 '96" would run probably very low 12, high 11. After I took that bag off, my seat-of-the-pants estimate of my times was in the upper 9s with a terminal speed of about 145 mph. All from just taking that man purse off the windshield.
