Because I can't drive...Seriously I have been riding for about 41 years...I commute daily to work...and ride every other chance I get...Every time I have to use the car or the truck...I have to learn to drive again.
At 16 (back in 1976) you could get a motorcycle permit and ride by yourself without a licensed driver with you. It actually gave me freedom 6 months earlier than I could have had with a car/truck. It didn't take long for me to realize how much fun it is/was! I am 50 now and have had a bike for all the time in between except for 8 months. I live in Mass and have ridden year round more years than I have not.
In that time I have ridden at least 500,000 miles and ridden to 37 states. I can't imagine a life where riding a motorcycle wasn't a part of it, it is a part of me.
