I remember the experience. My first ride home when I picked up my Night Train was a 140-mile ride, and it felt like a 20-mile ride. I was still shaking when I got home.
Just recently purchasing my first Harley the first ride home is still fresh in my memory.
Starting it for the first time and pulling out of the dealer saying to myself don't pull a Dudley.
What a great ride home!
Still can't figure out how a 15 mile trip took 50 miles.
Honest I rode straight home.
I will have to say this is the first big ticket item that I didn't have any buyers remorse.
My first ride home will be remembered for a long time.
It was the first of many enjoyable rides to come. Congrats on your purchase!
Nothing would be worse then dropping your new beautiful bike on day one!
haha, it happened to me last year but not on day 1, i waited until day 2 until i let that pick up pull out on me & knock me off my brand new street bob.
Had mine delivered from the dealer to the house. Got it right at rush hour traffic, and the dealership is at the edge of a major construction zone. Traffic was just too heavy for me to be comfortable pulling out on a new bike, bigger than any I'd ever had before, and since it had been many years since I'd ridden.
So I rode it around the neighborhood that evening once it was home. Then jumped on the highway and rode it during rush hour traffic to work the next morning. After that, it's been all over the place and the smile is still there every time I ride.

That's what I did, it was a low speed turn in a parking lot, fell over on the "engine guards", a salesman once told me "we don't call them crash bars".
I don't think anyone saw me. No damage done. I haven't dropped it since.
Congratulations on the new bike.
