You can use it on anything that accepts a charge. I use it on fork tubes but they must be micro polished. We use it for reducing the friction. This would be worthless on a HD Showa conventional fork as the sliders are used as the friction area verses a real fork where bushings are against the fork tubes. I use a process called D.L.C.
PS you can not powder coat a fork tube as you indicated.
i have seen it done. and in very short time the area where the travel occurs the finish is destroyed. maybe somebody has a better process, but every fork i seen it was like this.
If you change your oil and replace your bushing I would never expect to see wear. I have been running them for a few years now. This is DLC, Diamond Like Coating. It is a cool word for carbon.
