You know, with all the debris that's floating around in orbit, I'm mildly amazed that nothing more serious happens (or has happened up until now, anyway).
NASA has a satellite that's stopped responding to commands. It's supposed to re-enter the atmosphere today and some of it might make it all the way to the ground. NASA is reasonably confident that whatevr debris makes it through re-entry will end up in the sea.
But, you know, look both ways and up in the sky before crossing the street.
It would be cool if we had some sort of spacecraft that could dock with and retrieve satellites. Perhaps some sort of launchable, landable shuttle type aircraft. Thanks for that Obama, hope it hits you! ;+)
Seriously though, the Earth is mostly covered with water, so the odds of hitting land are unlikely. It will be breaking up into millions of pieces anyway, but my luck it will still come down on my head. Grim.
Well i got to tell ya no point looking up , down , left , right , according to those that know , so that rules us lot out .... in space it's travelling at 4.6 miles a second so even if it comes in at half that speed to planet E don't matter if it's the same size as a really cool set of fingerless gloves and your in the way, how can i put this .... YOUR DEAD!
