So I was cleaning my bike a few days ago after letting my dad ride it. Had a few drinks while he was out. He got back and rode his bike home and I decided to spend some time cleaning my ride. Apparently had a dew to many and thought it would be a good idea to wipe down the pipes while they were still hot and burnt a microfiber cloth.
So that was a few days ago. I went to ride my bike to work today and noticed white smoke coming from around the same area where I burnt the cloth.
Im almost certain the white smoke is from the cloth but was curious what other things I should consider checking.
Fyi the part where the cloth was burnt was on the actual exhaust and not on the chrome
The only other thing it could be is valve seals failing, but that generally manifests itself by producing white smoke on decel, as in taking a hwy off ramp and decelling as you do so.
EZ to pick up with a friend riding behind you after dark. I don't think this is your problem though-- back to line 1!
It's just the residue from the cloth/oil or whatever it is that is burning on there. You can scrape it off with a razor or something, or just let it burn off. Nothing you need to worry about.
