I bought the cover at a swap meet years ago;stock cover that someone cut,then bought some of that plastic trim you put on your car door so it doesn't scratch against the garage wall,cut a small piece & installed it on the edge. I did an A-B-C comparison with this cover, the stock football, and an open air cleaner, and this one SEEMED to give the best throttle response, although it may have been more psychological than anything else. I thought it looked kinda cool & racy (sorta like muffler wrap) like the Ram Air on the old Mopar muscle cars, so I just left it.
