Really, I am surprised even amazed at how many of the responders say they carry a weapon on them. I am a NRA guy but carring a gun like some of you have indicated sets up a lot of bad situations. If you pull a gun and shoot someone, you are going to jail and the cost of defending yourself will most likely brake you.
The reason I carry a concealed weapon is because of situations exactly like the OP described. I don't go looking for trouble by any means, and I don't think I am a badass because I carry a gun and I sure as hell would not pull it unless my life or someone else's life was in danger. And I think most people who legally carry concealed feel the same way. It's a self defense tool, period. I may go down, by I'm going down fighting. I pray to God that the day never comes that I have to use it.
In regards to the OP, it sounds like that at that point there wasn't much you could have done anyway. Most people who drive like that can't be rationalized with anyway, I would have avoided the confrontation altogether and let him drive away. BTW, I carry a Glock 27 in my waistband, works pretty well for me.

The results were the best you could hope for...
pull out phone (after he pulls away) and call cops immediately.
However, this is the vest I wear..one size over normal.
best to carry slightly smaller then a full size 45 in it.
again, yall all seem to be right. thanks for the replies. terrabella i agree and i dang sure dont have the money for lawyers and to be honest i hope i never have to kill someone, i was raised to take up for yourself and your word is all you got but killin somebody, i dont know if i could live with that. Believe me speakerfritz, i agree with what your saying, i cant change the world. I have seen this in my job, save the very few that u can and go home to your family the next day and try and let it go. I guess this was a wake up call for me, i hope i'm never in this situation again. I know y'all understand, your raised to not let anyone run over you but when it comes to this its a whole new ball game.
Open carry is legal in NC. Get a good retention holster so it doesn't come out when you are riding. Conceal Carry is good to have as well. I wear a vest made for carry and normally have a M&P 340. Remember... when seconds count police are only minutes away.
Shoot an illegal with a gun in Ca. and you go to jail for violating his civil rights to shoot you. Then you get to support the family which the state is already doing. That's how they get them off the rolls here.
I carried a pistol 25 years on duty & off duty & do so now as a retired LEO. The best way to carry a pistol is the same way all the time. You practice drawing and firing it from this holster on the range until you can do it without thinking about it.
The problem with a shoulder holster is that you have to always wear a jacket or vest over it. A problem in warmer area in the summer.
A strong hand inside or outside the waistband holster is usually best ( It can be covered by a shirt). One without a safety strap. A good holster will hold by friction.
But before you do it you must first be very sure you are prepared to use it when the time comes. That event should be predtermined. Failure to do so will result in being unsure in a bad situation and you will get killed or lose the gun.
agapsdiver... I really like your sig pic. I am a retired railroader and am still a biker (will never retire from that). At 70 years old, I can remember those old steam engines and the headlight on my RK Classic reminds me of a train engine headlight.
