So took my 2011 Deluxe in today had it serviced and told em the front wheel felt like it shimmied pretty bad when coming off the throttle at 50 mph or faster. Told me the neck bearings were probably loose and need tightened at 1k miles? Said ok do it. They come and get me an hour later and say um you need to see something of course I say sure, so i get back with the tech and says the wheel is seperateing? WTF I say? The rear wheel had 3-4 inches of side to side movement. Wheel is on backorder and they tell me they have seen this only one other time? Anyone heard of this before? They told me on the phone when this started ahh it's ok just the neck bearings you can ride it till you come in on your service. Seems pretty damn dangerous to me. But hell I work on cars not bikes and nothing happened and the dealer does a great job so all is well other than no bike for 7-10 days at a minimum to ride in this great weather.

RELAX! The H-D Motor-clothes-costume department does not have any issues. Continue to supporrt the Mo-Co and all will be well.
Help me to understand how the wheel was separating and how there could possibly be 3 or 4 inches of play.
That was my thought. Seems like if there was that much wiggle in the rear you could tell just by looking at it. At the very least it would be much more noticeable.
The actual issue is the spokes pulling out of the wheel, they believe the spokes were to short and started pulling out which was what they meant by seperating. Wheel movment was 1.5 to 2.0 inchs to the left or right I liken it to a loose wheel bearing on a car. I talked to them today so they could explain it a little better. Thanks for the help.
