Yup, you did the right thing. Shoe on the other foot how would you feel if you were the merchant; H.D. or not? BIG diff between .66 and $66 btw.

FWIW, I waited tables a lot when I was younger, and mistakes like that happen all the time. I never, ever had to pay for any of it. But oh well, for all I know that's how they run their business, I'll never find out for sure, and it makes no difference to me anyhow.

It was the right thing to do. You shouldn't even be second guessing yourself. Like 71FLH said, it's called integrity. It is refreshing to know that a few people still have some.
