I know how you feel Clammy. I'm in the Ottawa area as well and the weather isn't geting any better. I may have have had my last ride of the year yesterday. It was an hour each way to the dealer and back to get the software upgrade done on my 07. It was a little wet but if you weren't riding in the rain around here for the last couple of months you weren't riding. The dealer is starting to believe me when I say that my 07 Ultra will look like a rat bike in a year. The shed I'm storing it in isn't much better than leaving it outside. At least it will be handy when I want to take it out on a nice sunny day in early spring. They were made to ride. Polishing will only wear the paint off sooner.

I would offer to let you park her in my garage, but I already have four other bikes in there! COVER, COVER, COVER! I even cover mine inside the garage.

Hey Bob,

One thing you can count on in this town is crummy weather!

Where abouts in/around Ottawa are you located? Which dealer do you go to?

Cheers!

Clammy, I salute you! Check him out guys, looks like there is a bit of road grime under that snow. Here's a guy that rides his, way to go. It will look like new again when its washed. I say badge of honor--not shame.
Thanks.

There's actually a LOT of road grime under the snow. I ride in all weather except snow/freezing rain/ice pellets. I ride when it's pouring rain, I've ridden when it was in the 20s (just last week as a matter of fact!). Basically as long as there isn't snow/ice on the ground I ride. I'm really bad at keeping her clean, because on the days it's nice enough to wash her, I'm RIDING her! I washed her exactly three times this season.

Cheers!

These are delicate machines you don't want to put "Water" on them deliberately. My gosh man, that stuff rusts pipes, not to mention it gets into places that you can't even get to!!! A good fast ride gets rain water off, thats all you need.

I second that "Badge of Honor"

You're right about the weather. [:-]

I live south of Rockland. The power was just out for a half hour or so and I noticed that I was wearing my t-shirt from the 98 ice storm. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come.

I use HD of Ottawa on Industrial. How about you?

Yeah, that ice storm in 98 was BRUTAL!

A buddy of mine lives in Plantagenet, not too far from you, I believe.

I go to Freedom on Merivale. They're just a few minutes away. I was hoping to ride my bike over there tomorrow to put her up for storage, but I just got home, and it's still coming down hard and fast, and there's lots of slush everywhere. Unless the roads magically clear of that crap by tomorrow afternoon, I'll have to get them to bring out the trailer and pick her up. Have you put yours away yet, or are you keeping her in your shed over the winter?

Feh, I'm sick of winter already! [:'(]I need to move somewhere hot and dry.... like Arizona!

Cheers!

As far as I kow your dealer and mine are owned by the same person / people.

My bike is about as away as it is going to get. I just need to make sure the mice don't build a nest in the seat. I'm trying moth *****. I plan to keep it close just in case there is a break in the weather. Last year I saw a bike on the road at least once each month. So I figure there may be some hope.

We'll have to watch for each other on the forum. Perhaps we can get out for a ride together in the spring.

Hey Clammy, I know how ya feel. I would like to ride and it has gotten cold and snowy at times where I live also. To bad winter can't go someplace else and let us ride.

Yeah, they're owned by the same folks.

You should take your seat off and keep it in your house. No mice nest for sure then, hehehe...

A ride in the spring is definitely a plan! I often go riding down the 174 along the river when it's nice out, sometimes as far as the 417 past Hawkesbury, so hooking up should be no problem!

Cheers!
